About the Sacrament:
"Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds." For Children in our Faith Formation Program:
Faith Formation Classes are offered for children in grades K-5 not attending a Catholic School. Classes consist of catechesis and sacramental preparation appropriate for each age group. In order to help our young people properly prepare for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion, they must complete one year of Faith Formation before the year in which they will receive these sacraments (normally second grade).
For St. Joseph Catholic School Students:
St. Joseph Catholic School students receive religious education during Theology Class Monday-Thursday. This class prepares students to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion in the second half of their second grade year.

Baptism serves as the first sacrament one receives when entering the Catholic Faith. It is a sacrament of initiation (which you can only receive one time), meaning once you received it, you officially enter into the body of Christ, the Catholic Church. The recipient receives justifying and sanctifying grace when baptized, and the Holy Spirit begins to dwell within them.
Infant Baptism 0-6
New parents and godparents must participate in a Baptism Class before scheduling a Baptism. Godparents who live out of town may complete this class at a parish near them. If you have completed the baptism class in the last three years, you are not required to attend the class again. To schedule a baptism class, please contact Joe Fey.
Baptism 7+
For those above age 7 wishing to be baptized, the Church asks that you participate in our OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults/Children) program is a period of reflection, prayer, instruction, discernment, and formation for those who have never been baptized or who have been baptized in another Christian faith.
